Contractors Needed for Elevated Water Tank Coating

The City of Wooster in Ohio is currently seeking contractors for the repair of a 250,000-gallon, welded column-supported toro ellipsoidal tank built in 1973.

Bids are due Nov. 18.

Scope of Work

This project involves the rehabilitation of a 250,000-gallon, welded column-supported toro-ellipsoidal tank.

This project includes the coating of interior and exterior tank surfaces, along with tank repair work and the replacement of the cathodic protection system.

The City of Wooster in Ohio is currently seeking contractors for the repair of a 250,000-gallon, welded column-supported toro ellipsoidal tank built in 1973.

Tank surfaces will be prepared with the standards associated with abrasive blast-cleaning to Near White (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2), then coated with a zinc primer, epoxy intermediate and polyurethane finish.

The wet interior surfaces of the tank will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Near White (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2) and coated with a zinc primer and three coats of two-component high-solids, fast drying polyamide epoxy.

Finally, the dry surfaces on the interior of the tank will be prepared using abrasive blast-cleaning to Near White (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2) and coated with a two-coat two-component high-solids, fast-drying polyamide epoxy system.

Full exterior containment is required in for this project.
