Bids Wanted for NV School Project

Washoe County School District in Nevada is accepting bids for the construction of a new elementary school.

The submittal date for this project is Nov. 23.

Scope of Work:

This project involves the construction and painting of a two-story, 86,000-square-foot elementary school building. Site work also involves grading, paving, landscaping, underground utilities, masonry, plumbing and HVAC services.

Exterior painting involves applying a three-coat system consisting of one coat rust converter and two coats latex on non-galvanized steel substrates, including door frames, columns, beams, gates and any surface that does not have a factory finish.

Interior work is scheduled to include a three-coat system of alkyd on all steel substrates exposed to view, including door frames, stair railings, structural steel columns, structural steel beams, joists, metal decking, electrical conduits, plumbing piping and mechanical ductwork. Gypsum board and plywood surfaces will require a three-coat latex system. Wood trim surfaces will require a three-coat polyurethane system.

Surfaces are to be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3), White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 5/NACE No. 1), Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) and Pickling (SSPC-SP 8).

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held Oct. 26, at 10 a.m., via Zoom. Attendees must join no later than 10:10 a.m., at which point the meeting will be locked. An optional site walkthrough will be held for interested parties on Oct. 26, at 4 p.m., at Nick Poulakidas Elementary School, 9600 Mojave Sky Drive, Reno, Nevada 89521.
