Bids Wanted for FL Airport Hangar Rehab

Monroe County, Florida, is accepting bids for the rehabilitation of airport storage hangar.

The submittal date for this project is Sept. 23. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 1 p.m., Sept. 2.

Scope of Work

This project involves painting and rehabilitating storage hangars at Florida Keys Marathon International Airport, in Marathon, Florida.

Monroe County, Florida, is accepting bids for the rehabilitation of airport storage hangars.

Exterior work involves a three-coat system consisting of a water-based, light industrial coating on steel and iron substrates. Galvanized-metal surfaces will require a three-coat system consisting of latex.

Interior work includes a four-coat system of latex on gypsum board substrates. Steel and iron surfaces will require a three-coat system consisting of water-based, light industrial coating.

Steel surfaces are to be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3), White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 5), Pickling (SSPC-SP 8), Brush-Off Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 7) and Bare Metal Power-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 11).

Manufacturers specified for this project are Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, Gladden Professional and Lanco Manufacturing Corp.
