TPC Announces Event for Commercial Contractors

Monday, August 16, 2021

This October, Technology Publishing Company will expand its realm of Connect Events, with plans to host its inaugural Commercial Contractor Connect event, exclusive to the commercial painting industry.

The event plans to bring together an elite group of the nation’s top commercial painting contractors and executives from their suppliers for networking, recreation and industry education.

The event is slated to take place over two days, from Oct. 21-22 at the Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Palm Coast, Florida. The conference will be hosted in conjunction with the Commercial Painting Industry Association’s inaugural CPIA Leadership Conference, also occurring at the resort from Oct. 19-21.

Conference Info

Focusing solely on the commercial painting industry, the inaugural event promises guaranteed face time with top commercial painting contractors and meetings between industry leaders from some of the most successful commercial painting businesses in North America.

This October, Technology Publishing Company will expand its realm of Connect Events, with plans to host its inaugural Commercial Contractor Connect event, exclusive to the commercial painting industry.

Patterned much like the original Contractor Connect event, Commercial Contractor Connect will bring together sponsors (suppliers) for private, one-on-one time with a curated selection of the country’s leading commercial painting contractors (buyers).

This guarantee will be carried out through TPC’s extensive process of hand-selecting the top 20 commercial painting contractor owners and executives ready to discover new products and technologies from 20 suppliers of the products you need—and all committed to the variety of networking opportunities, meetings and industry insight.

Chosen, qualified contractors will attend at zero cost, and the opportunity is aimed at those looking to:

  • Get answers to your problems and questions;
  • Get face time with C-level execs from suppliers (instead of your local rep);
  • Trade tips and advice with your peers; and
  • Learn the newest trends and technologies in paints and coatings, fire protection, anti-graffiti, textured coatings, concrete protection, waterproofing sealers, floor toppings, repair materials, equipment and tools for surface preparation, paint applications, safety equipment, sundries and so much more!

Sponsors have refered to the show as “better than any trade show” for gaining customer insight, learning about new opportunities, and closing business, while contractors prize the opportunity to build close connections with C-suite executives at their suppliers and trade tips and advice with their peers.

“We didn’t think we needed help to talk to customers, but Contractor Connect was more cost-effective than doing our own event,” said Doni Riddle, recently retired senior vice president of technology and integration at The Sherwin-Williams Company, regarding previous industrial-focused Contractor Connect events. “We gained valuable insight on what was important to the contractor, strengthened relationships, and learned about new opportunities. We’ve sponsored every year since.”

To break down the event happenings:

  • Recreation: Contractors and sponsors will mix over meals and a choice of recreational activities (golf, fishing, etc.);
  • Education: Q&A with the contractors, in addition to a panel discussion lead by charter sponsors on best practices, new technology and emerging trends in commercial painting; and
  • Sales: Each sponsor will get private, pre-scheduled meetings with contractor attendees.

“I believe this was something money cannot buy,” said Mark Hueslein, President, Hitech Painting, regarding prior Connect Events.

Participation

This year's Commercial Contractor Connect will invite a limited number of commercial painting contractors with qualified buying power to connect with sponsoring suppliers who provide the products and services they need—all in the beautiful ocean-side setting of a world-class resort.

To be considered, interested contracting companies must fill out the attached application here.

Sponsorships

A few of the event’s current sponsors include The Sherwin-Williams Company, McBrayer & Associates, Benjamin Moore, Purdy Professional Painting Tools, The Wooster Brush Company, Titan, Uniflex and Graco.

One of the key attributes of Commercial Contractor Connect is the intimacy of the event. Suppliers in the commercial coatings industry are offered exclusive opportunities to participate as sponsors, building relationships with current and prospective customers in fun and productive ways.

Interested suppliers will have the option of becoming a Platinum or Silver sponsor. Details regarding these supporting sponsorships and their benefits can be found here. Additional ancillary sponsorship opportunities can be found here.

Schedule and Updates

While the conference’s agenda is still being finalized, contractors who are registered or considering attending can stay updated by visiting the event’s homepage. Those interested in learning more about the co-located CPIA Leadership Conference can do so here.
