Bids Wanted for NY Lighthouse Painting, Rehab

The Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard is accepting bids for painting and rehabilitation of a historical lighthouse.

The submittal date for this project is Sept. 14.

Scope of Work

This project involves painting and extensive repairs of Eatons Neck Light in Huntington, New York.

The Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard is accepting bids for painting and rehabilitation of a historical lighthouse.

Exterior brickwork will require a two-coat system of mineral silicate coating. Cast-iron surfaces will require cleaning and a two-coat system yet to be determined.

Interior work involves rust treatment along stairways, with a two-coat system of encapsulating sealant. Interior masonry will require cleaning and at least one coat of mineral silicate.

This project involves lead and asbestos abatement. Surface preparation standards required for this project have yet to be disclosed.
