Contractors Needed for TX Elevated Tank Rehab

The City of Brenham, Texas, is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate an elevated storage tank.

Bids are due Aug. 10.

Scope of Work

This project involves the rehabilitation of an existing 300,000-gallon pedestal elevated water storage tank.

The City of Brenham, Texas, is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate an elevated storage tank.

 

Contractors will use high pressure water jetting and abrasive blast clean the exterior surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10) and coated with an aromatic urethane zinc-rich primer, polyamide epoxy intermediate and an advanced thermoset fluoropolymer topcoat.

 

The interior surfaces will be prepared through high pressure washing and commercial standard abrasive blast-cleaning or power tool cleaning (SSPC-SP 6, SP 11). Then, the interior of the dry tank and piping will be coated using a modified polyamide epoxy primer and a polyamide epoxy finish. Interior wet surfaces shall be prepared to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10) and coated using an aromatic urethane zinc-rich primer, polyamide epoxy intermediate, and modified polyamide epoxy finish coating.

 

The owner-approved coating manufacturers are Sherwin-Williams and Tnemec.
