Bids Wanted for OR Bridge Painting Project

Multnomah County is seeking contractors to paint the main spans of the Morrison Bridge in Portland, Oregon.

Bids are due June 15.

Scope of Work

Bids are being accepted for a painting project involving rehabilitation of the Willamette River (Morrison) Bridge located in Portland, Oregon. The contract will include rehabilitation and painting of Span 1, 2 West, 2 East, and Span 3. Drainage rehabilitation and sidewalk replacement is also included. The structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Multnomah County is seeking contractors to paint the main spans of the Morrison Bridge in Portland, Oregon.

The project involves preparation and coating all new and existing structural steel according to the State of Oregon Special Profision 00594. New steel will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2) with the final appearance closely approximating Pictorial Standard SP 10 of SSPC-Vis 1.

Existing steel structures will require Near White Metal Blast-Cleaning (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 1) or cleaned to Very Thorough waterjetting standards (SSPC- WJ-2) with the appearance approximate to Pictorial Standard WJ-2 of SSPC-Vis 4. For coated steel structures requiring rehabilitation, steel surfaces will require Commercial Grade Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 15).

For steel requiring shop coating, a three-coat organic or inorganic zinc-rich system is required. Maintenance coating of steel or iron surfaces will require a three-coat organic zinc-rich system. Steel and iron surfaces receiving field application of coatings will receive a three-coat surface tolerant zinc-rich system. The owner-approved coating manufactures are Sherwin-Williams, Carboline and Wasser.

The project includes lead abatement. Containment is required.
