Contractors Needed for CA Tank Coating Project

The City of Stockton is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate and coat two water storage tanks at the 14 Mile Reservoir Site in Stockton, California.

Bids are due May 6.

Scope of Work

This project involves coating and repairing the interior and exterior surfaces of two 3-million-gallon steel water storage tanks and the exterior of one surge tank.

The City of Stockton is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate and coat two water storage tanks at the 14 Mile Reservoir Site in Stockton, California.

Contractors will abrasive blast clean the interior tank surfaces to Near White Metal Standards (SSPC-SP 10). The interior surfaces will be coated with an epoxy system.

The exterior tank surfaces will be water blasted (3,500 psi) (SSPC/WJ-4), cleaned to Power-Tool Standards (SSPC-SP 3), and abrasive blast-cleaned to Commercial Standards (SSPC-SP 6). The exterior surfaces will be coated with an epoxy-polyurethane system.

The exterior surfaces may contain lead-based coatings. Testing and disposal of all waste generated is required.

The work also requires dehumidification.

The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Sherwin-Williams.
