WA Bridge Painting Project Awarded

The Washington State Department of Transportation has awarded a project for painting the Stillagaumish River Bridge located in Olympia, Washington, to Southern Road and Bridge LLC of Tarpon Springs, Florida, for the amount of $5,387,410.35.

Southern Road and Bridge LLC was the lowest of eight apparent bidders. Additional bidders included:

  • P.S. Bruckel, Inc of Avon, New York, in the amount of $5,526,298;
  • Panther Industrial Painting of Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of $5,968,870;
  • Cekra, Inc of Wilmington, North Carolina, in the amount of $6,245,152.10;
  • Purcell Painting and Coating, LLC of Tukwila, Washington, in the amount of $6,319,743;
  • Olympus Painting Contractors, Inc of Tarpon Springs, Florida, in the amount of $6,399,021;
  • Royal Bridge, Inc of Palm Harbor, Florida, in the amount of $7,578,277.25; and
  • Abhe and Svoboda, Inc of Jordan, Minnesota, in the amount of $10,016,968.50.

The project bid Nov. 18, 2020.

The Washington State Department of Transportation has awarded a project for painting the Stillagaumish River Bridge located in Olympia, Washington, to Southern Road and Bridge LLC of Tarpon Springs, Florida, for the amount of $5,387,410.35.

The awarded contractor will oversee the cleaning and coating of the existing bridge members.

The work includes a lump sum item for testing and disposing of containment waste. An additional lump sum item for containment is required.
