The L.E. Public Library in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, is seeking bids for the addition and remodel of the original library building.

In this project, all exterior surfaces exposed to view shall be coated. Ferrous metals shall be painted with two coats of alkyd enamel after being touched up with a rust-inhibitive primer. All galvanized materials shall be painted one coat of galvanized primer and two coats of alkyd.
All exterior surfaces shall be cleaned and prepped according to manufacturer’s recommendation. All galvanized surfaces shall be prepared according to Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2) standards, while all ferrous metal surfaces shall be prepared according to Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6) standards.
Interior surfaces shall be coated using a three-coat system. For wood, there shall be one coat of latex primer and two coats latex enamel. Interior ferrous metals shall be painted with one coat of alkyd primer and two coats of alkyd enamel while gypsum board and plaster surfaces will receive one coat epoxy primer and two coats of epoxy enamel.
All interior surfaces shall be cleaned according to either Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6) or Surface Preparation of Concrete (SSPC-SP 13/ NACE No. 6) surface preparation standards.
Brands specified are Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, Diamon Vogel Paints or PPG Paints.
