Contractors Needed for 2-Tank Rehab Project

The Sweetwater Authority is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate the Morris and Starr Water Storage Tanks in Chula Vista, California.

Bids are due March 16.

Scope of Work

This project involves recoating the interior surfaces of two existing ground water storage tanks.

The Sweetwater Authority is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate the Morris and Starr Water Storage Tanks in Chula Vista, California.

The interior surfaces will be abrasive blast cleaned to Near White Metal Standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The interior surfaces will be coated with a three-coat epoxy system.

Contractors will perform lead abatement on the exterior roof surfaces on both water tanks.

The work also includes installing cathodic protection anodes.

The owner-approved coating manufacturers include International and Tnemec.
