Repaint Bids Sought for CT Performing Arts Center

The town of Simsbury, Connecticut, is seeking bids for the painting of the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center. The center is the second-largest outdoor venue in Connecticut with space to fit approximately 10,000 people.

The submittal date for this project is Feb. 18.

Scope of Work

In this project, the cedar siding and wood shingles shall be coated with one coat of semi-transparent stain using a brush and roller application system. The ceiling sheetrock shall be painted using one coat of primer and one coat of acrylic.

Metal doors and frames are to be coated in one coat of latex, while structural steel and pipe handrails shall receive one coat of oil type industrial enamel. All finish colors are to match existing coatings.

The exterior cedar wood siding shall be pressure washed while the sheet rock ceiling shall be hand washed and allowed to dry completely. Sanding is only required where necessary.

Officials note that the center will remain open during the painting process.
