Bids Sought for New Residence Hall in KY

The University of Louisville, in Kentucky, is seeking bids for the construction of a new residence hall. The University of Louisville is a state-supported school located in Kentucky’s largest metropolitan area.

The submittal date for this project is Feb. 17.

Scope of Work

In this project, all exterior steel and iron substrates are to be coated using a three-coat system consisting of one coat of epoxy primer and two semigloss coats. All galvanized-metal substrates are to be coated using a three-coat system made up of one coat of epoxy primer followed by two coats of semigloss.

Interior steel substrates are to be coated using a three-coat system. This system will be composed of one coat of alkyd followed by two coats of latex. Finally, all gypsum board will be coated using a three-coat system consisting of three coats of latex.

All surfaces that require touch-up priming shall follow the standards associated with Hand-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2) and Power-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3). All nongalvanized steel surfaces shall be prepped using the standards associated with Power-Tool Cleaning to Bare Metal (SSPC-SP 11).

The brands specified for this project are Behr, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams and PPG.
