Contractors Needed for FL Elevated Tank Rehab

The City of Altamonte Springs is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate and coat an existing elevated water storage tank in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Bids are due Feb. 12.

Scope of Work

This project involves recoating the interior and exterior surfaces of an existing 500,000-gallon elevated water storage tank.

Contractors will high pressure wash (3,500 psi) and spot clean the dry interior surfaces to Power-Tool Standards (SSPC-SP 3). The dry interior surfaces will be spot prime epoxy coated and finish coated with an acrylic-polyurethane.

The City of Altamonte Springs is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate and coat an existing elevated water storage tank in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

The interior wet surfaces will be abrasive blast cleaned to Near White Metal Standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The wet interior surfaces will be coated with a zinc-epoxy system.

The exterior of the tank will be high pressure washed (3,500 psi) and spot cleaned to Power-Tool Standards (SSPC-SP 3). The exterior surfaces will be spot epoxy primed, overall primed with an acrylic-polyurethane and finish coated with a fluoropolymer.

The work also includes high pressure washing (3,500 psi) and coating above ground piping, valve and fitting surfaces with an epoxy-acrylic system.

Containment is required.

The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Tnemec.
