WI Reservoir Painting Project Out for Bid

The Wisconsin Department of Administration is currently seeking contractors to coat an existing reservoir in Madison, Wisconsin.

Bids are due Jan. 26.

Scope of Work

This project involves recoating the interior and exterior surfaces of an existing 280,000-gallon ground water storage tank.

The Wisconsin Department of Administration is currently seeking contractors to coat an existing reservoir in Madison, Wisconsin.

Contractors will low pressure water clean (4,000 psi) and abrasive blast clean the interior wet surfaces to Near White Metal Standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The wet interior surfaces will be coated with a three-coat zinc-epoxy system. A polyurethane caulk will be applied to the roof lap seams.

The exterior of the tanks will be high pressure water cleaned (5,000-10,000 psi) and power tool cleaned to Bare Metal Standards (SSPC-SP 11). The exterior surfaces will be coated with a three-coat epoxy-urethane system.

The work also includes water cleaning (3,500-5,000 PSI) and coating the foundation surfaces with a two-coat epoxy system.

Dehumidification is required.

The owner-approved coating manufacturers include Sherwin-Williams, Induron, Tnemec and Sika.
