IL School District Seeks Painting Bids

The Elgin School District U-46 in Elgin, Illinois, is seeking bids for the Streamwood High School Painting Project Phase Three.

This project involves the painting of a high school located in Elgin, Illinois.

The Elgin School District U-46 in Elgin, Illinois, is seeking bids for the Streamwood High School Painting Project Phase Three.

In this project, all CMU substrates will be coated using a one-coat system made up of latex block filler. All gypsum board surfaces will be coated using a one-coat system that consists of one prime coat.

Interior steel substrates will be coated using a two-coat system composed of one coat of primer followed by a topcoat of satin-gloss. Galvanized steel substrates will be coated using a three-coat system that consists of one prime coat of acrylic industrial primer followed by two coats of acrylic industrial enamel.

Steel surfaces to be coated shall be cleaned using the standards associated with Hand-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3), Brush-off Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 7) and Bare Metal Power-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 11).

The brands specified for this project are PPG, Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore.
