Bids Wanted for MD Detention Center Addition

Calvert County, in Prince Frederick, Maryland, is seeking bids for the addition of a program space to the Calvert County Detention Center.

The submittal date for this project is Oct. 30.

Scope of Work

This project involves the addition of a program space to a detention center located in Prince Frederick, Maryland.

Calvert County, in Prince Frederick, Maryland, is seeking bids for the addition of a program space to the Calvert County Detention Center.

In this project, all exterior steel and iron substrates are to be coated using a three-coat system. This system will consist of one coat of alkyd primer followed by two coats of urethane enamel. Also, galvanized metal surfaces are to be coated using a three-coat system made up of one coat of primer and two coats of water-based semi-gloss.

All interior CMU substrates in this project will be coated using a three-coat system that is composed of one coat of block filler and two coats of water-borne acrylic epoxy. Interior steel substrates will be coated using a three-coat system made up of one coat of primer and two coats of waterborne acrylic.

Finally, gypsum board ceilings are to be coated using a three-coat system that is comprised of one coat of primer and two coats of latex.

Galvanized surfaces that are to have paint repair shall be prepared with the standards associated with Zinc-Rich Coating, Type I-Inorganic and Type II-Organic (SSPC-Paint 20). Metal surfaces to be finished shall be prepared with the standards associated with Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3).

The brands specified for this project are Behr, Benjamin Moore, Coronado, Duron, MAB, McCormick, Glidden, PPG and Sherwin-Williams.
