DC Concrete Tank Rehab Out for Bid

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate and recoat the West Potable Water Tank in Washington, D.C.

Bids are due July 15.

The cost estimate is $400,000.

Scope of Work

This project involves rehabilitating and recoating the interior and exterior surfaces of an existing 2 million-gallon concrete water storage tank.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate and recoat the West Potable Water Tank in Washington, D.C.

Contractors will crack repair, water blast clean and coat the interior joints, sidewall and floor surfaces with epoxy and elastomeric coatings. Interior steel surfaces, including piping, will be abrasive blast-cleaned and coated with a zinc primer and epoxy coating system.                                                                            

The exterior surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Concrete Cleaning standards (SSPC-SP 13/NACE No. 6). The exterior surfaces will then be coated with a two-coat acrylic-latex system.
