Bids Wanted for CA Hangar Improvements

The Antelope Valley Community College District in Palmdale, California, is seeking bids for the improvement of the Fox Field Hangar.

Scope of Work

This project involves the improvement of the Fox Field Hangar located in the Antelope Valley Community College District in Palmdale, California.

The Antelope Valley Community College District in Palmdale, California, is seeking bids for the improvement of the Fox Field Hangar.

In this project, all exterior ferrous metal surfaces are to be coated using a three-coat system. This system will consist of one coat of rust preventative primer followed by two coats of acrylic latex.

Next, all interior gypsum board surfaces are to be coated using a three-coat system made up of one coat of interior acrylic primer followed by two coats of interior acrylic. All interior cast-in-place concrete surfaces are to be coated using a three-coat system that is comprised of one coat of interior acrylic primer then two coats of interior acrylic.

Finally, interior ferrous metal surfaces are to be coated using a three-coat system that is made up of one coat of acrylic primer and two coats of acrylic latex.

Metal surfaces that are to be touched-up shall be coated using the standards associated with Shop, Field, and the Maintenance Painting of Steel (SSPC-PA 1). Surfaces are to be cleaned before coating using the standards associated with Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 5), and Pickling (SSPC-SP 8).

The brands specified for this project are Dunn-Edwards, Vista and Benjamin Moore.
