Bids Wanted for WA Bridge Painting

King County is seeking contractors to perform full removal and recoating of a bridge over Green River in Flaming Geyser State Park located in Auburn, Washington.

Bids are due May 21.

The project is estimated to cost $760,000.

Scope of Work

King County is seeking contractors to perform cleaning and painting of approximately 12,600 square feet of steel surfaces including steel box girders, floor beams, sidewalk support and steel guards. Work will also include cleaning and regreasing cable anchors within the steel box girders.

King County is seeking contractors to perform full removal and recoating of a bridge over Green River in Flaming Geyser State Park located in Auburn, Washington.

The steel will require full removal of coatings from structural steel surfaces through abrasive blast-cleaning to Near White (SSPC-SP 10). The steel will then receive application of a five-coat aliphatic acrylic-polyester urethane high-build system. If the maximum time between coats is exceeded, all affected areas will require Brush-Off Blast-Cleaning (SSPC-SP 7) before being recoated with the specified system. The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Carboline.

Containment of abrasives, testing and disposal of containment waste is required. The containment system must be in accordance with SSPC Guide No. 6.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the public bid opening will only be conducted via Skype or telephone. Bids and bid quantities will only be accepted electronically.
