Bids Needed for CT School Repairs

The Town of Guilford, Connecticut, is seeking bids for the upgrades at the Baldwin Middle School.

The submittal date for this project is April 13.

Scope of Work

This project involves the upgrade of an HVAC within the Baldwin Middle School located in Guilford, Connecticut.

The Town of Guilford, Connecticut, is seeking bids for the upgrades at the Baldwin Middle School.

In this project, all exterior galvanized-metal substrates are to be coated using a three-coat system. This system will consist of a prime coat, an intermediate coat and a topcoat. The prime coat will be a galvanized, water-based coat. The intermediate coat will be a light industrial coating that is also water-based. Finally, the topcoat will be a light industrial coating that is a water-based semi-gloss.

Surface preparation for this project is as follows:

  • Any shop painting will follow the standards associated with the touching up of field-painted surfaces (SSPC-PA 1); 
  • Any galvanized paint surface that is to be repaired will be prepared using the standards associated with galvanizing repair paint (SSPC-SP 20); and
  • Any surface that is to be shop primed shall be prepared using the standards associated with Power-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3).

Brands specified for this project are Benjamin Moore, Behr, Duron, ICI, PPG and Sherwin-Williams.
