All exterior steel and galvanized steel substrates that are located on the exterior of this project are to be coated using a three-coat system. This system will consist of one coat of primer and two coats of latex. Any exterior cement fiber substrate will be coated using a two-coat system comprised of two coats of latex.
Interior steel substrates are to be coated using a three-coat system. This is to consist of one coat of primer followed by two coats of latex. Gypsum board substrates are to be coated using a three-coat system that is made up of one coat of primer and two coats of latex.
Steel substrates are to be surface prepped following the standards associated with Hand-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2). Also, Shop-Primed Steel Structures are to be prepared using the standards associated with SSPC-PA 1 for the touching up of shop-primed surfaces.
Brands specified for this project are Benjamin Moore, California, Cloverdale, Dunn-Edwards, Kelly-Moore and Sherwin-Williams.
