The King County Housing Authority, in Seattle, is seeking bids for the exterior painting of the Fairwood Apartments. The King County Housing Authority owns 137 properties that provide housing for families, the elderly and disabled individuals.

Exterior existing wood in this project is to be coated using a two-coat system that consists of one coat of primer and one coat of finish. Any unpainted treated wood surfaces are to be coated using a two-coat system that consists of one coat of oil-based primer and one coat of satin finish.
Wood stairs are to be coated using a three-coat system that is comprised of one coat of primer and two coats of low lustre enamel finish. Any unpainted treated wood decking that is a walking surface will be coated using a three-coat system that is made up of one coat of oil-based primer and two coats of a low lustre enamel finish. Existing metal on the exterior is to be coated using a three-coat system that is comprised of one coat of bonding primer and two coats of an alkyd semi-gloss enamel finish. Finally, all existing exterior concrete will be coated using a two-coat system made up of primer and a satin finish.
Surface preparation for this project includes Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP1), Hand-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP2), Power-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP3), and Brush-Off Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP7).
