Bids Needed for NY Standpipe Coating

The Suffolk County Water Authority is currently seeking contractors to clean and recoat the Middleville Road Standpipe in Oakdale, New York.

Bids are due April 2.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held March 12.

Scope of Work

This project involves cleaning and recoating the interior and exterior surfaces of an existing 2.3 million-gallon standpipe water storage tank.

Suffolk County Water Authority

The Suffolk County Water Authority is currently seeking contractors to clean and recoat the Middleville Road Standpipe in Oakdale, New York.

Contractors will abrasive blast clean the interior surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The interior surfaces will then be coated with a zinc-rich primer and epoxy system.

The exterior surfaces will be abrasive blast cleaned to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The exterior metal surfaces will be coated with a zinc-rich primer, epoxy intermediate and polyurethane finish.

A containment system is required.

The owner-approved coating manufacturers include Tnemec, Sherwin-Williams, PPG, International and Carboline.
