Bids Wanted for NY Pedestrian Bridge

The City of New York is seeking contractors to perform reconstruction of the 17th Avenue Pedestrian Bridge and 27th Avenue Pedestrian Bridges over the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn, New York.

Bids are due Jan. 30.

Scope of Work:

Interested contractors will perform reconstruction of pedestrian bridges over the Belt Parkway, including the 17th Avenue Pedestrian Bridge and 27th Avenue Pedestrian Bridge. Work includes rebuilding of existing drainage structures, catch basin installation, removal and storing of cobblestones and coating of newly constructed surfaces.

The City of New York is seeking contractors to perform reconstruction of the 17th Avenue Pedestrian Bridge and 27th Avenue Pedestrian Bridges over the Belt Parkway in the Borough of Brooklyn, New York.

The chosen contractor will oversee protective sealing of new and existing concrete surfaces. A two-coat penetrating type sealant will be applied to newly constructed walking and riding surfaces. Existing concrete surfaces will be cleaned by light abrasive blast-cleaning or shot blast-cleaning, followed by a protective sealant application.

Work will include application of two coats of anti-graffiti protective coating to the concrete, brick and stone masonry surfaces. The owner-approved manufacturers include East Coast Clean-Up Corporation, AGP Systems, Inc., Prosoco, Inc. or an approved equivalent.

The project will also include methyl-methacrylate color surface treatment to be applied to pavement surfaces. The owner-approved manufacturers include Transpo Industries, Inc., Ennis-Flint and Stirling Lloyd North America.
