Bids Wanted for TX Library Roof Replacement

The City of Mission in Mission, Texas, is seeking bids for its Speer Memorial Library and Mission Historical Museum roof replacement project. The Speer Memorial Library opened in 1914, and is one of the oldest libraries in the Lower Rio Grande Valley.

Bids are due Dec. 9.

Scope of Work

This project involves the replacement of the roof on an existing library and historical museum.

The City of Mission in Mission, Texas, is seeking bids for its Speer Memorial Library and Mission Historical Museum roof replacement project.

All exterior cement board substrates will be coated using a two-coat system consisting of a latex wood primer followed by an acrylic coating. Portland cement plaster substrates on the exterior of this project will be coated using a two-coat system consisting of masonry primer followed by an exterior acrylic coating.

Interior gypsum board substrates are to be coated using a three-coat system consisting of one coat of prime coat of latex, one intermediate coat of latex and one topcoat of latex.

Surface preparation occurring on steel surfaces to be shop primed shall follow the standards associated with Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6).

The approved coating manufacturer is Sherwin-Williams or an approved equal.
