The Kansas City Port Authority is seeking contractors to provide proposals for painting services on the pedestrian bridge located on 100 Main Street, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Proposals are due Dec. 20.

Scope of Work

The Town of Kansas Pedestrian Bridge is a 650-foot-long bridge constructed in 2004 that links the River Market to the downtown Kansas City Riverfront. The chosen contractor will provide proposals for coating of all steel surfaces that have been previously coated, and will not include exposed weathered steel members. The contract includes preparation, priming and complete coating of handrails, lamp posts, trellis beams, bridge support columns, platform columns, supporting steel and stair support steel.

The steel will require pressure washing all areas to receive coatings, surface preparation to Power Tool standards (SSPC-SP 3) as required, and hand or power tool cleaning as necessary. All areas of bare steel will require a spot primer, a full intermediate prime coat and a UV-resistant urethane top coating.
