CA Seeking Bid for College Building Reno

The Mt. San Jacinto Community College District in Menifee, California, is seeking bids for its Building 700 remodel project. The Mt. San Jacinto Community College District is home to 26,000 students annually.

Bids are due for this project on Dec. 3.

Scope of Work

This project involves the remodeling of an existing campus building.

All exterior galvanized metal surfaces will be coated using a three-coat system consisting of primer and semi-gloss. Any un-galvanized metal exterior surface will be coated using a four-coat system consisting of a primer and semi-gloss.

All concrete and CMU exterior surfaces will be coated using a three-coat system. Any exterior wood will be coated using a three-coat system consisting of primer and semi-gloss. Any fiber-cement exterior surface will be coated using a three-coat system. Any exterior cement plaster surface will be coated using a three-coat system.

As for interior surfaces, galvanized surfaces shall be coated using a three-coat system that consists of primer and semi-gloss. Any shop-primed ferrous metal shall be coated using a three-coat system consisting of semi-gloss. Any new gypsum surface shall be coated using a five-coat system that consists of primer, semi-gloss and ceiling finish. Existing gypsum will be coated using a five-coat system consisting of primer, semi-gloss and ceiling finish. Interior primer concrete and CMU will be coated using a three-coat system consisting of semi-gloss. Any interior wood surface will be coated using a two-coat system consisting of primer and a semi-gloss finish. All pipe and fittings will be coated using a three-coat system consisting of primer and two coats of bright aluminum paint.

Surface preparation occurring on steel surfaces shall follow the standards associated with Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6). Any surface that will be touch-up painted shall follow the standards that are associated with Shop Painting (SSPC-PA1). Surfaces that have mill scale and rust to be removed should be surface prepped using the standards associated with Power-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP3).

Approved coating manufactures are Dunn-Edwards, Frazee, Vista Paint or a district-approved equal.
