2-Tank VA Coating Project Out for Bid

The City of Richmond is currently seeking contractors to coat and improve the Cofer Road Tanks in Richmond, Virginia.

Bids are due Nov. 14.

Scope of Work

This project involves rehabilitating and recoating the interior and exterior surfaces of two existing 2 million-gallon ground water storage tanks.

The City of Richmond is currently seeking contractors to coat and improve the Cofer Road Tanks in Richmond, Virginia.

Contractors will abrasive-blast clean the interior surfaces to Near-White Standard (SSPC-SP 10). The interior surfaces will then be coated with a three-coat epoxy system.

The exterior tank surfaces will be abrasive-blast cleaned to Commercial Standard (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) and coated with a zinc-rich primer, polyurethane intermediate and fluoropolymer finish.

The owner approved coating manufacturer is Tnemec.

A containment system is required. The exterior surfaces of the tanks are classified as containing lead-based paint.
