Steel members will require pre-cleaning to remove surface contaminants. The steel will then be abrasive blast-cleaned to Near White (SSPC-SP 10) and coated with an organic zinc-rich epoxy primer, an epoxy mid coat, an aliphatic polyurethane top coat and a polyurethane clear coat.

Hazardous materials have been identified in the existing paint systems. Containment according to SSPC Guide 6 is required for all paint, paint chips, cleaning agents and other debris.
