MO County Seeking Bids for Jail Addition

Stoddard County is seeking bids for an addition to its County Jail in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Bids are due for this project on Oct. 31.

Scope of Work

This project involves the renovation of an existing jail, an addition to the jail and a new two-story building. The new building is estimated to be 34,132 square feet when complete.

All exterior concrete and concrete masonry surfaces will be coated using a two-coat system consisting of a primer and acrylic latex. All exterior ferrous metal surfaces will be coated using a two-coat system that consists of semigloss waterborne acrylic-latex enamel over a primer. All exterior zinc-coated metal in this project will receive a two-coat system comprised of low-sheen acrylic over a primer. Exterior aluminum surfaces will receive a two-coat system consisting of semigloss waterborne acrylic-latex enamel over a primer.

All interior concrete and concrete masonry will receive a two-coat system of eggshell acrylic-latex over a primer. Interior gypsum board surfaces will receive a three-coat system consisting of a primer followed by two coats of eggshell acrylic-latex enamel. All interior wood surfaces will receive a three-coat system consisting of two coats of acrylic over a primer. Interior ferrous metal surfaces will receive two coats of semigloss alkyd over a primer. All interior zinc-coated metal will receive a three-coat system that consists of one coat of primer and two coats of alkyd enamel. Finally, all interior stained finish over new wood will receive a three-coat system consisting of one coat interior wood stain followed by two coats of alkyd-based clear satin varnish.

Surface preparation on shop-primed finish surfaces will comply with the standards associated with Power-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3) and Hand-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2). Any surface preparation on uncoated steel should follow the standards associated with White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 5).

Approved coating manufacturers include: Sherwin-Williams, Iowa, Benjamin Moore, ICI, PPG, Pratt & Lambert and Kwal.
