IL University Seeks Cafeteria Renovations

Governors State University is seeking contractors for its Cafeteria Renovation Project located in University Park, Illinois.

Governors State University was founded in 1969 and currently serves more than 5,500 students.

Bids are due October 15.

Scope of Work:

This project involves the renovation of an existing server and kitchen of a dining area on a college campus. The size of the dining area is approximately 17,500 square feet.

Wood surfaces will receive a three-coat system using one coat of latex primer sealant and two coats of a semi-gloss latex enamel. Concrete surfaces will receive a three-coat system using one coat of block filler and two coats of latex enamel. Ferrous metal surfaces will receive a three-coat system using one coat of latex primer and two coats of latex enamel. Gypsum board surfaces will receive a three-coat system using one coat of epoxy primer, two coats of acrylic epoxy and two coats of waterbased epoxy. Gypsum board and plaster surfaces will receive a three-coat system using one coat of alkyd primer sealer and two coats of latex enamel.

All corroded steel and iron surfaces will be prepared using Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3) or Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1) standards. All touch-up painting shall comply with SSPC-PA 1 requirements for field-painted surfaces.

Owner-approved manufacturers are: Benjamin Moore, PPG and Sherwin-Williams.
