Contractors Needed for SC Fire Station Reno

The City of North Charleston is seeking contractors to perform roof and exterior wall renovations for Fire Station No. 3 located in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Bids are due Oct. 10.

Scope of Work:

Fire Station No. 3 is one of 13 different fire stations in the North Charleston Fire Department. This project includes the coating of two roofs and the coating of exterior walls. In total, the roofs add up to 3,968 square feet, and the surface of the walls total to 6,585 square feet.

The City of North Charleston is seeking contractors to perform roof and exterior wall renovations for Fire Station No. 3 located in North Charleston, South Carolina.

The exterior walls will be resealed at all existing construction joints. This includes all windows, doors and numerous other exterior joints. Upon completion, all exterior wall areas will be pressure washed, and all concrete areas will be repaired along with an application of elastomeric coating. Finally, all metal doors and windows will be coated.

This contract includes galvanized metal treatments by brush blast. All structural steel and plates shall also be cleaned using the following SSPC-VIS 1-89 standards.

The structures can be cleaned using Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3), White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 5 or NACE No.1), Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6 or NACE No. 3), Brush-Off Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 7 or NACE No. 4), Power-Tool Cleaning to Bare Metal (SSPC-SP 11), Near-White Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 10 or NACE No. 2) and Water Blasting (NACE Standard RP-01-72).

Approved coating manufacturers are: Sherwin-Williams, ICI Dulux and Duron, Inc.
