CA Reservoir Rehabilitation Out for Bid

The City of San Luis Obispo is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate Wash Water Supply Tank No. 2 in San Luis Obispo, California.

Bids are due Aug. 8. The cost estimate for this project is $141,000.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held Aug. 1.

Scope of Work

This project involves recoating the interior and exterior surfaces of an existing 180,000-gallon steel reservoir.

The City of San Luis Obispo is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate Wash Water Supply Tank No. 2 in San Luis Obispo, California.

Contractors will abrasive blast-clean the interior tank surfaces to Near White Standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The interior surfaces will then be coated with a zinc-rich primer and epoxy system.

The exterior roof and shell surfaces will be low-pressure water cleaned (SSPC-SP WJ 4, at 3,500-5,000 psi), abrasive blast-cleaned to Commercial Standards (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) and coated with an acrylic-polyurethane system.

The exterior roof tie-off, vent and chime surfaces will be power-tool cleaned to Bare Metal Standards (SSPC-SP 11) and coated with an acrylic-polyurethane system.

The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Tnemec or an approved equal.

In addition, the interior and exterior surfaces will receive an elastomeric type caulk. The owner-approved manufacturer is Sika Corporation or an approved equal.
