Contractors Needed for FL Tank Coating Work

The City of Tallahassee is currently seeking contractors to clean, coat and improve an existing elevated water tank in Tallahassee, Florida.

Bids are due March 28. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held March 12.

Scope of Work

This project involves coating and repairing an existing 750,000-gallon elevated water storage tank.

The City of Tallahassee is currently seeking contractors to clean, coat and improve an existing elevated water tank in Tallahassee, Florida.

Contractors will abrasive blast-clean the interior tank surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The interior surfaces will then be coated with a zinc-rich urethane primer and two-coat epoxy system.

The exterior tank surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) and coated with a zinc-rich urethane primer, epoxy intermediate and fluoropolymer polyurethane finish.

Containment and proper collection/disposal of blast materials is required.

The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Tnemec or an approved equal.
