LA Bridge Rehab Out for Bid

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is seeking contractors interested in the rehabilitation of the Atchafalaya River Bridge located in Saint Mary County, Louisiana.

Bids are due Nov.14.

Scope of Work

Contractors are being sought for rehabilitation and coating of the entire truss of the Atchafalaya River Bridge. The project involves superstructure repair including the replacement of gusset plates; false chord retrofitting; and the replacement of the bottom chord angle, diaphragm and web splice.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is seeking contractors interested in the rehabilitation of the Atchafalaya River Bridge located in Saint Mary County, Louisiana.

The project includes lump sum items for cleaning and coating the entire bridge truss from Pier W2 to Pier E2. The steel will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Near White (SSPC-SP 10) or Bare Metal standards (SSPC-SP 11) and coated with the standard Louisiana DOTD inorganic zinc system. This system is subject to change according to project requirements. Approved manufacturers are Amteco, Carboline, ICI Devoe, PPG, Rust-Oleum, Superior Products International and Sherwin-Williams.

Certifications for SSPC-QP 1 and SSPC-QP 2 are required.
