Bids are due for this project by Sept. 12.
Scope of Work
The awarded contractor is responsible for the exterior cleaning, painting and sealing of the Roseburg Worksource Office. The building’s exterior is a combination of plaster, concrete block walls, wooden beams, a wooden overhang and metal/aluminum sandwiched wood pieces.
Prior to application, the contractor is to properly clean and prepare surfaces scheduled to receive paint. This will involve removing any foreign matter, dirt, grime, and any flaking, loose or peeling existing coatings. Once these hazards have been removed using methods recommended by the manufacturer, the contractor is then to feather and sand edges of chipped or remaining paint to satisfactory smoothness.
When the contractor has finished preparing the exterior, a flexible bonding primer or approved equal can be applied to all surfaces, unless not required. All surfaces will then receive two coats of a 100 percent acrylic application. Although the foundation walls will not be receiving coatings applications, the seams of block walls, plaster surfaces, wood and/or sandwiched metal and wood surfaces will be. In addition, the contractor must also clean, caulk and paint all building vents and exhaust covers.
Besides applying coatings to the building, the contractor is also responsible for the cleaning and sealing of the building’s rock features. Downspouts, garden bed materials and the building’s flagpole are also required to be properly cleaned, prepped and coated.
