Scope of Work
This project involves cleaning and recoating an existing 500,000-gallon ground water storage tank, one above-ground water well, two booster pumps, one building and miscellaneous piping, valve and metal surfaces.
Contractors will abrasive blast-clean interior tank surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The interior will then be coated with a three-coat epoxy system. The exterior tank surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2), and coated with a zinc-rich primer, epoxy intermediate and polyurethane finish.
Interior immersed piping and metal surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2) and coated with a three-coat epoxy system. Exterior above-ground piping, valve and motor surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2), and coated with a zinc-rich primer, epoxy intermediate and polyurethane finish. Below-ground piping surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2) and coated with a coal-tar epoxy system.
The work will also include coating concrete block building surfaces with an acrylic enamel.
A containment system is required.
The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Sherwin-Williams.
