When coating wood surfaces, the contractor is to apply two coats of a semi-transparent stain. The surfaces shall then receive an acrylic enamel topcoat that matches the existing restroom color. A color-matching sample must be submitted prior to coating application.

These coating systems shall be easily cleanable with MEK or graffiti cleaners without having to be recoated. Uncoated surfaces will receive a three-part anti-graffiti clear glaze coating system.

This project will also require the contractor to apply various touch-up coating systems to clean welds, bolted connections and abraded areas of shop paint with the same materials. Any tree roots larger than one inch in diameter will also receive two coats of a tree sealant.
