Elevated Tank Rehab Out for Bid

The City of Clinton is seeking contractors for the rehabilitation of the Clinton Elevated Water Storage Tank, in Clinton, Mississippi.

Bids are due July 11. A pre-bid meeting will be held June 28.

Scope of Work

This project involves rehabilitating the interior and exterior surfaces of an existing 1 million-gallon elevated water storage tank.

Contractors will abrasive blast-clean interior tank surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The interior will then be coated with a zinc-rich primer and two-coat epoxy system.

The exterior tank surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) and coated with a zinc-rich primer, acrylic-polyurethane intermediate and fluoropolymer finish. The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Tnemec, or an approved equal.

Containment and disposal of abrasive-blast debris is required.

The work includes caulking interior and exterior roof lap seams which are not continuously welded with Sikaflex 1A or an approved equal. All bracket, stiffener, and painter ring surfaces above the water line which are not continuously welded will also be caulked. Interior rivets, welds and seams will be sealed using Aquatapoxy A-61 by Raven Lining Systems or an approved equal.

The work also includes painting a logo.

A one-year coatings warranty is required.
