The City of Orlando, Florida, is seeking contractors for various repairs of the historic Leu Gardens Museum house, including replacements of structural members, siding, re-roofing of all shingled areas and repainting of the structure.
The Leu House Museum is a restored 19th century home that was added to the National Register of Historic Places in December 1994. The museum was closed because storm damage by Hurricane Irma and plans to reopen after proper repairs have been completed.

The cost estimate for this project is $300,000. Bids are due for this project by May 31.
Scope of Work
The awarded contractor is responsible for the preparation, patching and cleaning of surfaces scheduled to receive coatings applications. Once these surfaces have been properly prepared, the contractor is to coat all specified exterior wood surfaces with one coat of an acrylic primer and two finish coats of an exterior acrylic. Exterior metal surfaces are to receive one coat of an industrial metal primer and two finish coats of an industrial acrylic enamel.
The contractor must insure that all miscellaneous ferrous metals are properly shop primed and that any damaged or specified galvanized surfaces are coated with a high-zinc-dust-content application. In addition, any exposed steel surfaces shall receive a high-performance coating system with either a high-build urethane or epoxy over a zinc-rich primer and polyurethane enamel.
Owner-approved brands are Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, Carboline, ICI, PPG and Tnemec.
