CA Ground Storage Tank Out for Bid

The City of Simi Valley, California, is seeking contractors for the recoating and rehabilitation of the Madera Ground Water Storage Tank.

Bids are due May 24. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held May 3.  

Scope of Work

This project involves recoating the interior surfaces of an existing 1.5 million-gallon ground water storage tank.

Specificatons

The City of Simi Valley, California, is seeking contractors for recoating and rehabilitating the Madera Ground Water Storage Tank.

Contractors will abrasive blast-clean interior tank surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10). The interior will then be coated with a three-coat epoxy system.

A polyurethane or polysulfide joint sealant will be applied to the shell/roof junction and roof plate lap seam surfaces.

Owner approved coating manufacturers include Devoe, Sherwin-Williams and Tnemec.

Dehumidification may be necessary.

The existing tank coatings contain lead, chromium, and cadmium. Containment and disposal of debris is required.
